We Will Put the Lonesome on the Shelf

I can’t believe I’ve just recently discovered Ingrid Michaelson. I love her. :)

Out of Sorts…

June 2nd, 2009

Love the phrase, “I’m feeling a bit out of sorts today.” I don’t think the term is used much anymore, but I like it, and yes- I’m feeling a bit out of sorts today.

I’ve just started a new job that’s very similar to one I had before, and even with the same company but in a different location. It’s like a really bad case of deja vu.  I’ve always taken deja vu as a sign that I’m where I’m supposed to be, so I guess it’s not a bad thing at all.

I remember being in high school and going to visit at another high school that was just like mine, only backwards. Definitely messed with my head. Just when I thought I knew where I was going, I got turned around again.

Anyway, the out of sorts feelings will soon be gone and I’ll be feeling right at home again. Transition is good. Work is good. Money is necessary… and can be lots of fun! :)

Get Down With the Sickness- Richard Cheese Version

June 1st, 2009

I have strep throat for the zilliionth time since I turned 23. I’m not good at being sick. In fact, I’m sick of it. In an effort to make the best of the situation, I’m totally trying to get down with the sickness… but grrr… it be hard!

This video… and song are not appropriate for children. Without further ado I present Get Down With the Sickness as heard and seen on the newer Dawn of the Dead and performed by Richard Cheese.

AHHHHH!!! I’m feeling better already! (If you haven’t seen Dawn of the Dead I highly recommend it.)

Like being reunited with an old friend…

One of my favorite things about blogging is that a blog is always there- or here. My blog doesn’t judge me, in fact it helps me whenever I give it occasion to. It will change to fit my mood, my life, my thoughts, and my fancy. It doesn’t care if I’m too busy to give it any attention for months on end, because its MY BLOG! :)

So yes, it’s been a LONG time, and nothing original has been written here for way too long.

Here’s to never giving up no matter how hard the fight, how boring things get, or how far you fall!

I’ve been on two wonderful trips so far this summer. I went to Moab a few weeks ago and had a GREAT time rafting on the Colorado River and hiking the trails in Arches National Park.

Every time I travel I’m reminded of just how blessed I am to live in such a beautiful state and country. Some of God’s most beautiful masterpieces are in my own back yard. I’m reminded daily of nature’s supreme beauty as I look at the mountains that surround the Salt Lake Valley.

Just last weekend I went camping in Escalante, Utah and hiked in Peekaboo Gulch, just one of many slot canyons in the area. Awestruck is the word that comes to mind.  I aspire to capture the wonder of those canyons on photo. (This is my first attempt. I’m sure I will improve with practice)

Next trip: Spanish Fork Canyon! Who knows what we’ll discover there. Wahoo!!! (I’m excited!)
